How does Invisalign work?

The Invisalign system helps to straighten your teeth without anyone knowing you’re having treatment unless you tell them of course! This makes it a very popular treatment option for those who want to straighten their teeth without compromising their smile. Invisalign is a system which uses virtually invisible aligners to straighten crooked or misaligned teeth. A series of clear aligners are custom-made to fit you – they look a bit like a thin, clear gum shield that most people won’t even notice you are wearing. We regularly treat patients aged 10 to 60, so age is no barrier to treatments, as long as you are dentally fit to start treatment. Before your treatment starts, we will also show you computer images to see how your smile will be transformed over time. Treatment times vary by individual and can typically last from 6 months to 18 months, with regular checks from our orthodontic team as your treatment progresses.

Chennai Orthodontics offer Invisalign Treatment in Chennai at affordable cost. The treatment is not only invisible but is also so convenient, you can remove the aligners to eat and to clean your teeth. You can even use the aligners to whiten your teeth during treatment. There are no metal wires or bands which are more visible and can sometimes irritate your mouth. It’s also easier to keep your teeth clean too.

There are three main types of Invisalign that we use at Chennai Orthodontics. At your free consultation, our specialist will advise you on the best system to meet your needs.

  • Invisalign Full is used to treat the more complex orthodontic conditions. On average, treatment time can range from 12 to 18 months but differs from person to person.Providing for less complex alignment problem cases.
  • Invisalign Lite uses a fixed number of aligners to correct small discrepancies towards an improved smile. It is also ideal for those who need the positioning of their teeth adjusted and straightened before cosmetic work such as veneers, crowns or bridges- Invisalign provides a great solution to enhance the cosmetic/aesthetic solution.
  • The i7 was developed for those people who need minor dental corrections. This could be treating slight overcrowding cases or perhaps that single annoying crooked tooth that has always been an eyesore in photos. It has also been used in cases when there has been previous orthodontic treatment and relapse has been very minor- Invisalign i7 can prove to be a useful solution.

FAQs

What is Invisalign, and how does it work?

Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that uses clear, plastic aligners to straighten teeth. The aligners are custom-made to fit your teeth and gradually move them into the desired position. You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks before switching to a new set, until your teeth reach their final position.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

The length of Invisalign treatment varies depending on your individual case. Typically, treatment can take between 6-18 months, but this can vary depending on the severity of your dental issues.

Is Invisalign treatment painful?

Invisalign treatment is generally less painful than traditional metal braces. You may feel some discomfort when you switch to a new set of aligners, but this should only last for a few days.

How often do I need to wear my Invisalign aligners?

For optimal results, it is recommended that you wear your Invisalign aligners for 20-22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, brush, and floss.

Can I eat or drink while wearing Invisalign aligners?

No, it is recommended that you remove your Invisalign aligners when eating or drinking anything other than water. Eating or drinking while wearing your aligners can cause damage to the aligners and hinder your treatment progress.

How do I clean my Invisalign aligners?

To clean your Invisalign aligners, you should rinse them with lukewarm water and brush them gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Avoid using hot water or abrasive toothpaste, as this can damage the aligners. You can also use the Invisalign cleaning kit or soak them in a denture cleaner for extra cleaning.
